Old Rectory Barn, newly restored in 2007, dates from the early 16th century and is available as one large property (sleeping up to 10 guests) or as two independent cottages. B&B available on request.
Excellent facilities await you with every modern convenience in warm, comfortable accommodation and with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Set in five acres above the village of Maesygwartha and the South-East corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park - with easy access to Cardiff or the Welsh Valleys yet still being in a delightful rural location with magnificient views over the Blorenge and Sugar Loaf Mountains.
We have converted the barn paying great attention to the fabric of the building using sustainable materials and lessening the carbon foot print; there is a rainwater harvesting system and Solar panels for heating. A finalist in 2008 Wales Business & Sustainability Awards, the judges commented "The Old Rectory Barn is an excellent example of 'Green Tourism' having been beautifully and ethically rennovated." In 2009, the Barn was a finalist in the Environmental Agency Water 'Save' Awards.
